It’s official! I am offering a class with mostly men in it, with the very un-catchy name of “Geared for Men.” So as not to be exclusionary, everyone is welcome to attend, and there are already a few women in the class. I also have some room for any late-comers; just be in touch if you want to join the class, it’s not too late!

This class is on its own schedule, apart from my “regularly scheduled programming” so you will not find it listed with all the rest of my classes.

Here is an excerpt from an email I sent to folks who had expressed some interest, so you can get a gist of the class:

As introduction, my name is Fran Karoff, I am a local Milton yoga instructor teaching my own classes and running my own little yoga business out of Santosha Studio at 60 Adams Street in Milton Lower Mills (above Coldwell Banker and Milton Hardware).  I’ve been practicing yoga for over 20 years and teaching for about 10 years, offering classes for everyone; ranging from gentle to vigorous.  

My philosophy on yoga is that you do what you can do and not power through it, honoring whatever is going on in your body.  It’s your practice and I will give you the tools to dive in and also to modify (either downshifting or upshifting as need be). I teach folks in the 40-65 year old range and I am not interested in seeing people push themselves into a pretzel if it means they are limping home.  It’s about meeting you where you are at right now given your current body mechanics.  Offering strength-building, stretching AND some bonus mindfulness.

Lately there has been some interest in a class that is geared toward men (but I insist, everyone is welcome!). I happen to have room for it on my schedule, on Monday evenings at 7:15 p.m.

My classes generally run in sessions, or group of classes (for ex, I’m currently teaching a January/February session). I’d like to launch this Gentle Flow Geared for Men (but open to anyone) class in February.  And since I’ll be “off” in syncing up with the rest of my classes, I’d like to have it go to mid-April. 

Proposed Dates (Ten Classes):

February 3, 10, (NOT Presidents Day 2/17), 24

March 2, 9, 16, 23, 30

April 6, 13

I’m sure you are thinking that this would be quite a commitment SO I’D LIKE TO OFFER YOU A FREE TRIAL CLASS ON MONDAY, JANUARY 27TH to help you decide if it is a good fit for you.  I should mention I need a minimum of about 10-12 folks to run the class.

I’m sure you are also thinking that you might not be able to make all those proposed dates.  No worries, my sessions are structured so that you can attend any of my classes (there are six other classes each week).  If you are limited to evenings, I teach two classes on Wednesday nights that you can use as “make ups” throughout this session.  

So I’m simply throwing this out there to say, “HOW DOES THIS SOUND TO YOU?”  I’m also saying, “IT IS TIME TO INVITE SOME FRIENDS!” so if you have any friends, male or female that might be interested, please send them my way to join the list of folks who may end up being a part of this class.
